croatian dj and producer from rijeka, arexx real name
ivo vicic has begun his carreer as a dj in 1992.
in mid-90's starts using slogan 'extraterrestrial disc
jockey', adding level of recognition to his work as a dj
and building his own dj style and sound which can in
short be described as a hi-tech ambient techno and
edge techno style of a dance floor character. this is
something that's been following him through the years
of his work and dj performances in many clubs.
today, apart from his own music production which is
being released for many various music labels, he
produces music for special purposes |festival of science,
carnet-croatian academic and research network,
various dvd documentaries...| in his private music
studio, using vintage, analogue and modern digital
equipment. apart from studio work, he's a passionate
field recording sound-man, that is field sound-man who
records sound from the nature and everyday life
environment, sounds that he uses either in his own
music production or in completion of his archives of
authentic samples and soundscapes. this way he surely
represents an unavoidable phonographic source of
authentic field recordings of the sounds in his town
and wider, all of that within global trend of archiving of
recordings of certain areas on the planet earth dated
back in time, the sounds of our everyday environment,
sound imprints preserved for the future.
